“A Spatial Story”
by Celia wongDF(Deptford) Mobile Workshop, aims to engage with the spatial and social boundaries in the Deptford (South London) community. There are many local artist studios surrounding Deptford High Street Market, but there is minimal connection between them and the communitis of market traders and shoppers. DF Mobile Workshop is a platform to encourage the local artists and residents to collaborate, rediscover, rethink and reuse objects from the second hand market stalls. Though exchanging creative ideas and skills, old objects can be transformed. The DF workshop highlights the local cultural and creative character of the Deptford community and provides a prototype for sustainable development in the area.
Storyboard IllustrationsNarrative Environment
“I believe it is important to engage people in the process of building so they have an investment what is developed. Through thinking and working together, people find that the built object become part of A BONDING EXPERIENCE.“
DF Mobile Workshop is, as it names suggests, a mobile artist workshop on which artists and visitors from Deptford Markets can collaborate on transforming broken, ‘dead’ objects into something new. The workshop consists of two parts: a ‘shopping trolley’ that can be taken around the market to buy objects. The shopping trolley slots into a mobile workbench.
DF Mobile trolley takes people through the making process. It is intended to stimulate creativity and inspire the audience through the collaboration with artists and vice versa. The project represents the idea that EVERYONE can access art easily, EVERYONE can make art, and EVERYONE can be an artist.

“Activated Another Market”
by Celia wongExploring and researching the area around Deptford local Market. In response, I have designed – ‘Another Market’ – Spatial intervention that will be constructed and inserted into the Deptford Market Christmas Event -‘If on a Winters day’ http://baisd.wordpress.com/2013/11/30/drs-07-another-market/ The design that are attempting to resolve and improve issues of urban mobility. These designs explore forms concepts and even the essence of mobility itself, portraying the future of the city and the role of design in future urban mobility. Artistic expression to examine Issues of cities and urban mobility from a macroscopic and microscopic perspective, tracks the invisible path of mobility and uses it to remap the shape and space of the city constructing a picture of the mobile city from a different angle.
